Experiment, create, compose scenarios where there is no limit to the imagination, united by the beauty of the most beautiful scenarios in the world. Bartu Öncüoğlu (Polashoots), a photographer who lives in Istanbul, creates pictures that shine, given his magical way of showing new worlds through conventional formats and casual experiments in instant photography.
“The time that I made my first ‘flaw’ was in July 2015, during a journey to Paris, with an Impulse camera. Before the very first picture I took had developed, I could not know that my life will never be the same ever since the minute I pushed the shutter button.”
Failures during perfection keep our brains awake to catch images like those Bartu offers us, where the details are a set of sensations seen in his photos.
Currently his work is exhibited in A Hidden Gallery in Istanbul, until the end of August. There you can see Bartu’s work, where the error is just a mere coincidence that is constantly misinterpreted and judged harshly, when it is a part of the same beauty based on the point of view of who has captured it.

“El momento en que hice mi primera “imperfección” fue en julio de 2015, durante un viaje a París, con una cámara Impulse. Después de la primera imagen que tomé, no podía saber que mi vida nunca sería la misma después del minuto en que presioné el botón del obturador”.
Los fallos en medio de la perfección mantienen despiertos nuestros cerebros para atrapar imágenes como las que nos ofrece Bartu, donde los detalles son un conjunto de sensaciones que comparten sus fotos.
Actualmente su trabajo se encuentra expuesto en la galería en Estambul A Hidden Gallery , hasta finales de agosto, donde podéis conocer este punto de vista en su fotografía, donde el error es solo una mera casualidad que está malinterpretada constantemente y juzgada severamente, cuándo es parte de la misma belleza radicada en el punto de vista de quién la ha capturado.
Solar Series
The Elegalaxa series contains 9 manipulated instant pictures of the Solar System. Each image represents a planet surface except the image of Earth in the middle. The reason to single Earth out was photographer’s choice to underline the human impact.
La serie Elegalaxa contiene 9 imágenes instantáneas manipuladas del Sistema Solar. Cada imagen representa la superficie de un planeta, excepto la imagen de la Tierra en el medio. La razón para destacar a la Tierra fue la elección del fotógrafo para subrayar el impacto humano.
Transition
This work is made by combining fresh polaroid films with expired polaroid films. Here the concept of perspective allows the viewer to experience the transition between positive and negative with an individual point of view.
Este trabajo se realiza combinando películas polaroid nuevas con películas polaroid caducadas. Aquí, el concepto de perspectiva permite al espectador experimentar la transición entre positivo y negativo con un punto de vista individual.
As if
The technique used in this work is emulsion lifting from Polaroid film onto the expired Time-Zero film. This technique provided the artist to achieve the outcome as if the polaroid photographs are made with Time-Zero film. The flaw of the Time-Zero film has been concealed as if it worked.
La técnica utilizada en este trabajo es la manipulación de la emulsión de la película Polaroid a la película Time-Zero caducada. Esta técnica proporcionó al artista para lograr un resultado como si las fotografías polaroid se hubieran hecho con la película Time-Zero. El defecto de la película Time-Zero se ha ocultado como si aun funcionara.
Build yourself instantly
This collage represents the instantaneous nature of Polaroid photography. The frames are developed to be discovered by the viewer in an instant way. The collage consists of 11 images which are held together by the woman herself in a delicate way, keeping the fragile notion of existence at her own hands.

En esta serie, se demuestra cómo la integración de los humanos afecta a la naturaleza incluso en el primer encuentro que es simplemente decir la palabra “hola”. Aunque, como humanos, continuamos destruyendo la naturaleza de manera descarada, las flores florecen sin arrepentimiento para recordarnos que no somos el anfitrión y solo somos un huésped temporal cuya salida está cerca.
