Raul Rodrigo Diaz way towards instant photography started as a battle against the digital age, and became a life long experiment. Born in Chile, Raul studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York and then at the Corcoran School of Arts in Washington DC between 1988 and 1995. In 1997, he left for France where he assisted several important names in the field of fashion and advertising photography, including Stéphane Sednaoui and Jean-Baptiste Mondino.
The enrichment acquired during this period allowed him to publish his first portraits and fashion series for French and international magazines, as well as to present his photos in several exhibitions in Paris, all using instant photography as his medium of choice which offers his images a glamorous and timeless feel.
Between 2009 and 2016 he decided to open EN FACE, a gallery, and shop devoted essentially to instant photography. Raul becomes one of the major players in the Polaroid community. Since then he published his first book ‘Cadavre Exquis’ and continues to experiment and develop his personal photographic work.
