Laura Ligari and Pablo Giori, resident photographers in Barcelona and intellectuals behind the first Experimental Photography Festival which will be celebrated in January next year in the same city, passed through our lens in a documentary way. By duplicating them, we wanted to pay tribute to their first project through which we met them: BADEM, dedicated to analog double exposure, and the reason why we are their assiduous followers.
Once we created a connection with their project, first with the upcoming festival, and then checking the many personal and professional connections that unite us, the minimum was to pay them a tribute, not only for being heads of the movement that has reached its idyllic state in the XXI century, but also for feeding art with an initiative that unites, that transforms, and that manages to influence the contemporary history of photography as a tool of day to day.
Their call for participation for the upcoming festival has been a total success, managing to add more than one hundred seats to what will be the starting point in a festival that only has, and we proclaim prophetically, a total success in the future.
The festival’s first edition at the Institut d’Estudis Fotogràfics de Catalunya with the support of the Pati Llimona Civic Center, an international community will gather to learn and create a community, by physically bringing members from around the world around the technique, the debate and to entail professional collaborations. This is an opportunity that, according to its directors, changes the way of viewing experimental photography, and creates the basis for a community that does not stop growing.
Laura Ligari y Pablo Giori, fotógrafos residentes en Barcelona e intelectuales detrás del primer festival de fotografía experimental a celebrarse en enero del próximo año en la misma ciudad, han pasado por nuestro lente de forma documental. Duplicándolos, hemos querido hacer un homenaje a su primer proyecto y por el cuál los conocimos: BADEM, totalmente orientado a la doble exposición analógica, y de la cuál nosotros somos seguidores asiduos.
Una vez creadas las conexiones con su proyecto, primero con el festival a celebrarse en el 2020, y comprobando las muchas conexiones personales y profesionales que nos unen, lo mínimo era rendirles un homenaje, no solo por ser cabezas de un movimiento que tiene su idilio en pleno siglo XXI, sino por alimentar el arte con una iniciativa que une, que transforma, y que logra influenciar en la historia contemporánea de la fotografía como herramienta del día a día.
Su convocatoria ha sido un total éxito, logrando sumar mas de cien plazas de asistentes a lo que será la puerta de inicio a un festival que solo tiene, y anunciamos proféticamente, un futuro totalmente exitoso.
En esta primera edición a realizarse en el Institut d’Estudis Fotogràfics de Catalunya con el apoyo del Centro Cívico Pati Llimona, una comunidad internacional se reunirá para aprender y crear comunidad, trayendo físicamente a miembros de todo el mundo alrededor de técnica, debate y entablar colaboraciones profesionales. Esta es una oportunidad que, según sus directores, os cambiará la forma de ver la fotografía experimental, y creará las bases para una comunidad que no para de crecer.
