“Sometimes” is one of the first singles of Oscar, a young Londoner who practices the musical genre that was baptized a few years ago with the name of bedroom pop. It is the opening track of his debut album titled Cut and Paste (Wichita / PIAS, 2016), one of the most pleasant surprises of the year. This is a full-fledged hit with two perfectly fitted choruses that recall great moments of pop such as Stephin Merrit and The B-52’s.
One of those catchy but unpretentious songs can be perfectly converted into a classic indie song at the second listening.
