Jamie always knew that she had a special link with Polaroid photography. Indeed she has spent her whole life surrounded by Polaroid and shooting instantaneous photography. Her grandfather had a SX-70, her parents carried boxy 600s and in high school she went through an i-Zone phase that lasted years. Art school helped hone her eye for composition and storytelling and in 2009 she began taking Polaroid seriously, making thousands of photographs that she has been slowly cataloguing in order to publish a book.
Living on the Pacific Northwest coast on a foggy hill next to a river, the work of Jamie is inspired by quiet and forgotten looking places. It gives to her work an aura of mystery and transmits the enchantment of foggy, wild, rural landscapes. Her shoots are visual iterations of her proclivity toward an unfussy life.
Her purpose is to document time and have it captured with this mysterious, magical chemistry that provides us with an imperfect image – light streaks, desaturated color, chemical failure – as the most harmonious way to authentically photograph real-time. She loves the beautiful imperfection of being alive and defends sincerely that Polaroid remains the most honest option to showcase a world we are constantly trying to make the opposite.

Jamie siempre supo que tenía un vínculo especial con la fotografía Polaroid. De hecho, ha pasado toda su vida rodeada de Polaroid y disparando con ellas.
