Rocío Castillo (La Linea de la Concepción, Cádiz, Spain), a photographer, a painter, a poet and a tourist accommodation management technician, drew our attention for her photos for their incredible quality and a very surreal and personal sense of humor.
Although her life in the world of instant photography is quite recent, her work has already been captured by the Analog Film Photo Association, and the fact that Rocio will be a part of the exhibition The Art of Instant Photography that opens tomorrow in Orlando (Florida) reaffirms the constancy that this young artist injects in her work.
Her current project “Who´s That Girl”, is the essence of her work: self-portraits connected to a vintage mood, funny and playing with the reality of each day.
“What I like is to give a picture of surrealism and humor to the photos, because we have enough with the sad news of the news or the newspapers, or the negative things that happen to us or surround us.”

Aunque su vida en el mundo de la fotografía instantánea es bastante reciente, la calidad de su trabajo, y haber sido captada ya por la Analog Film Photo Association, y ser parte de la exposición The Art of Instant Photography que se inaugura mañana en Orlando (Florida), reafirma la constancia que esta joven artista inyecta en su trabajo.
Su proyecto actual “Who´s That Girl”, es el conjunto de su obra: autorretratos conectados a un aire vintage, divertido y que juega con la realidad de cada día.
“Lo que me gusta es darle un puntillo de surrealismo y humor a las fotos, porque ya bastante tenemos con las noticias tristes del telediario o de los periódicos, o de las cosas negativas que nos pasan o que nos rodean”.
