Ex Abrupto is an alternative culture offer – a possibility to get out of the so well known Barcelona culture scene and experience something else – something more dark, something more David Lynch, something very conceptual and brutal in a way.
Ex Abrupto’s creator Eudald van der Pla, once was a curator for a small festival in Sant Hilari Sacalm, with a theme of everything abrupt. That’s how the name emerged. That time he asked for help to some friends and creatives, so after the festival was over and was a huge success – the team stayed, eager to make more festivals with an objective to decentralize culture, so they formed the collective.
Eudald doesn’t like to talk about himself too much. He might give an impression of being too serious, but in reality he is just shy, with occasional “exabruptive” impulses.
The next big thing for Ex Abrupto and Eudald van der Pla is a festival in Vic on the 28 May. The festival will take place in an ancient modernist house with expositions for over 30 artists and an experimental lineup of performances, among others of Miss Q, Coágul, OOEEVV, PLOM, Fame Chimica and more, a definite cultural must!
Ex Abrupto es una oferta cultural alternativa: la posibilidad de salir de la tan conocida escena cultural de Barcelona y experimentar algo más, algo más oscuro, algo más David Lynch, muy conceptual y brutal por decirlo de alguna manera.
El creador de Ex Abrupto, Eudald Van der Pla, una vez fue curador de un pequeño festival en Sant Hilari Sacalm, convocando artistas con una temática de que todo fuera “Ex abrupto”. Así es como surgió el nombre. En ese tiempo pidió ayuda a amigos y creativos y cuando acabó el festival -con un gran éxito-, el equipo se quedó con ganas de hacer más festivales con el objetivo de descentralizar la cultura y se formaron como colectivo.
A Eudald no le gusta hablar demasiado de sí mismo. Podría dar la impresión de ser demasiado serio, pero en realidad solo es tímido. Eso sí, con exabruptas impulsividades.
El próximo evento para Ex Abrupto y Eudald Van der Pla es un festival en Vic el 28 de mayo. El festival se llevará a cabo en una antigua casa modernista con exposiciones de más de 30 artistas y un gran cartel experimental de actuaciones, entre otros de Miss Q, Coàgul, PLOM, OOEEVV, Fame Chimica… en definitiva, ¡una necesidad cultural!
