Anđela Nikolić is a Serbian photographer and an architect. One can find her often strolling around the cities and mountains with a Polaroid camera.
What thrills me the most when shooting with Polaroid is the philosophy of the process. I could search of a favourite spot and light for days, only to take one photo. Still, the most precious photos are the ones that don’t turn out the way I planned – those lucky mistakes are priceless.
Frame by frame, Anđela started appreciating all the flaws, mistakes, imperfections of Belgrade, as they appear as true piece of art in that square frame.
To Anđela, Belgrade is a place where the ruins left from bombs become monuments, monuments from golden ages become forgotten and nostalgia for good old days is alive more than ever.
Today Anđela presents her vision of Belgrade to us – the city changes every day, and the only thing that is sure, the new secret place waits right around the corner for you to discover its shining lights.
