In the field of experimental photography, there is so much talent scattered around the world that we cannot imagine anything else than applauding, supporting and participating in fabulous initiatives such as the EXP.20 festival that took place in Barcelona last January. For this first and successful edition, the founders Pablo Giori and Laura Ligari managed to gather about 200 people during 3 days of workshops, conferences and exhibitions around experimental photography, and of course, with a privileged space for instant photography lovers.
Greatly represented by major international names such as Ina Echternach, Herr Merzi or Michael Behlen, instant photography was specially highlighted in the festival program, among with innovative proposals for film soup, solarigraphy, digital photography or multiple exhibitions. Apart from the high photo quality of the opponents, we also enjoyed exhibitions in which festival participants gained prominence, and discovered emerging international talents. Of course, our Instant Photographers team was there to shoot polaroids and spread our love for instant photography.
But what we liked most about this weekend at EXP.20 has been the feeling of belonging to a talented, humble and generous community whose values are continuous learning, exchange of experiences and mutual respect. In a nutshell, the feeling of being with our family with open-minded people and endless artistic talent. EXP 20 was a tremendous source of inspiration; we look forward to the EXP.21 edition!
En el ámbito de la fotografía experimental, hay tantísimo talento esparcido por el mundo que no podemos hacer otra cosa que aplaudir, apoyar y participar a iniciativas tan fabulosas como el festival EXP.20 que tuvo lugar en Barcelona el pasado mes de enero. Para esta primera y exitosa edición, los fundadores Pablo Giori y Laura Ligari consiguieron juntar a unas 200 personas durante 3 días de workshops, conferencias y exposiciones alrededor de la fotografía experimental, y por supuesto, con un espacio privilegiado para los enamorados de la fotografía instantánea.
Magníficamente representada por grandes nombres internacionales como Ina Echternach, Herr Merzi o Michael Behlen, la fotografia instantanea ha tenido un lugar de predilección en la programación del festival, junto con propuestas innovadoras de film soup, solarigrafías, fotografías digitales o exposiciones múltiples. A parte de la alta calidad fotográfica de los oponentes, también pudimos disfrutar de exposiciones en las cuales los participantes del festival ganaron protagonismo, descubriendo así talentos emergentes a nivel internacional. Por supuesto, el equipo de Instant Photographers estuvo ahí para disparar polaroids y repartir nuestro amor por la fotografía instantánea.
Pero lo que más nos gusto de este fin de semana en EXP.20 fue este sentimiento de pertenecer a una comunidad talentosa, humilde y generosa, cuyos valores son el aprendizaje continuo, el intercambio de experiencias y el respeto mutuo. En fin, la sensación de estar en familia, con personas abiertas de mente y con un talento artístico infinito. EXP. 20 fue una fuente de inspiración tremenda, esperaremos con ganas la edición de EXP.21!
