If you often pass by c/ Parlament 26 in Sant Antoni, you have surely seen one of the openings at Escalera de Incendios – with a lot of people talking on the street near the gallery, and the gallery itself being full of light, and transmitting positive energy, and apart from that – being a temporary home to a wide selection of emerging and established Spanish artist works.

Escalera de Incendios started back in 2012, when two girls Anna and Alex had a creative studio in the neighborhood – a space which would bring together people discussing art. That gave an idea to formalise these events by opening a gallery and a showroom for new artists, and naming it Escalera de Incendios, the same name as for the first exhibition held there.

Since after some years, with only Anna left, a new gallery member Maria joined, and both of them continue the life of the gallery and “the absolute love for this project”. The gallery has hosted exhibitions for such artists as Conrad Roset, Paula Bonet, Miguel Leal, La cabeza en las nubes and many more. Most recently, the gallery has participated in Young Gallery Week, an initiative to promote young artists and spread the cultural environment in Barcelona, an event which has been a great inspiration to both Anna and Maria.
