The movie which for many has been the moral winner of this year’s Oscars for the Best Animated Picture, is finally out on DVD. A masterpiece of stop motion animation, which tells the story of Michael Stone, a writer tormented by his monotonous existence, which he tries to break when he meets Lisa.
Emotive, disconcerting, with a typical touch of Kaufman, which while intended to show simplicity, always surprises with a depth worthy of the best. Animation is not a synonym for children movies, and this film is a clear example.
A JEWEL of cinema, in capital letters, which provides an insight into the depths of human existence.

La que para muchos es la ganadora moral del Oscar a la Mejor película de animación de la pasada edición, sale este mes en DVD. Una obra maestra de la animación en stop motion, que narra la historia de Michael Stone, un escritor atormentado por su monótona existencia, monotonía que intenta romper al conocer a Lisa.
Emotiva, desconcertante, con un guión con el sello típico de Kaufman, que aunque pretenda mostrar sencillez siempre sorprende con una profundidad digna de los mejores. Animación no es “sinónimo” de niño, y esta película es un claro ejemplo.
Una JOYA del cine, en mayúsculas, que permite adentrarse en las entrañas de la existencia humana.
